Age

  • All participants must be between the age of 18 and 70.
  • All participants below the age of 18 years must either have a consent form signed by their parents/guardians or be accompanied by them in person.

Visa and Documentation

  • All foreign nationals, including Indians undertaking the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, require a VISA to enter Tibet.
  • Kindly be informed that the VISA is not stamped on the passport. It will be a group visa on a separate piece of paper, issued by the Chinese Embassy.
  • All participants must have a passport valid for at least six months prior to the date of entry into Tibet. For the Hari Har Yatra, your passport has to be valid until February 2020.
After registration, a clear scanned copy of your passport has to be emailed to yatra@earthvoice.in.
  • In order to apply for the group VISA in India, Indian Passport holders will have to submit their original passport in Delhi 20 days prior to arrival in Kathmandu. If for any reason that is not possible for the participant, then the VISA will be arranged in Kathmandu
  • For foreign passport holders, the VISA will be procured in Kathmandu itself. Their passports are NOT required in Delhi prior to travel.

Physical Fitness

  • The biggest challenge for anybody traveling to Kailash Mansarovar regardless of age or fitness level is the high altitude. Being at a high altitude implies a drastic reduction in the amount of oxygen available for us to breathe. This can induce a condition known as Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). In order to combat AMS, we will be taking a medicine called Diamox every day for the duration of the Yatra. Kindly speak to your doctor about this medicine and its dosage depending on your medical history. Please be advised that people allergic to sulphur can NOT take Diamox. It is recommended that you do an allergy test before the trip.
  • It is imperative that people suffering from anemia, blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, asthma, heart disease, and epilepsy get complete approval from their medical practitioners before registering for the Harihar Yatra. The low levels of oxygen can induce unimaginable complications for people suffering from the above-mentioned ailments. It is advised to proceed with extreme caution and only embark on this pilgrimage if you are confident of your health because you will be doing so completely at your own risk.
  • It is advised that ALL participants of the Harihar Yatra seek the advice of their respective medical practitioners and check their heart (ECG, echo & stress test) and blood levels (especially hemoglobin) before registering for the trip. Those over 55yrs are required to provide a doctors certificate stating their well being.
  • Kindly refer to the FAQ section for complete advise on how to prepare for the Hari Har Yatra.
